Who are your influences? Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Pete Yorn, Adam Duritz (counting Crows)

Describe your nominated work. Reggae Influenced version of Paul McCartney’s song Jet

Were there any happy accidents while in the studio, or did everything go as planned? Recording came out Better Than expected. It was a happy surprise.

How did you raise the funds for this project? How long do you expect it will take to recoup your out-of-pocket recording expenses? I paid for the project out of my own pocket. And hope I can recoup ASAP.

Why did you choose to submit this work to The 11th IMAs? It was a very different direction for me

What’s your definition of success and how will you know when you’ve achieved it? Everyone singing my songs in a huge arena and along with the radio.

How will you leverage your IMA honors to achieve your career goals? Hopefully it will help to promote the song and the video.

Who’s sitting in your audience and what makes your fans unique? Our audience varies in age and gender. All fans are unique in their own way.

What is your guilty pleasure on the road? Any close calls or mishaps while on tour? No mishaps per say but a lot of funny stories and interesting people along the way.

Are there any songs you wish you wrote and why? Anything by Tom Waits and Patti Smith.. They are lyrical Geniuses.

What artists are you listening to that would surprise your fans? A lot of artists probably no one has heard of.. and Susan Boyle!

How do you discover new music? Word of mouth, through friends and seeing live shows.

How will musicians make a living if fans continue to expect music to be free? Merchandising is a great way to bring in extra income. And touring of course.

What don’t fans/audiences understand about the music industry today? How really hard it is and what artists have to sacrifice.

Are digital singles/EPs vs. full albums the future? Hopefully not. I still enjoy a full cd and the story it has to tell.
