J. Parker Scott has presented resolutions and declarations to governments on behalf of the City of Los Angeles, music and arts. As a Non-Governmental Official (NGO) she has performed during the United Nations Human Rights for Humanity sessions in France, Switzerland; have taken gospel music also to distant lands such as Fukuoka, Japan and South Africa. She has shared her gift of music at prison ministries, detention centers and Armed Force bases. Formerly music/choir director at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Dr. E. V. Hill. She has been featured on Trinity Broadcasting Network; performed and toured with Harvest Crusades for Christ evangelical ministry featuring Minister Chuck Laurie; featured guest vocalist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and mass choir community concerts; and the Bobby Jones International Retreat. One of her favorite accomplishments was being selected as music director/coordinator for the World Premiere of the movie Corrina, Corrina. She can now add to her resume that she was chosen as a finalist in the International Independant Music Awards for year 2008.
She has participated in community service with Habitat for Humanity assisting with building houses with her comrads in WDG as well as fundraisers to purchase computers and printers for a community elementary school. As a part of an interior design community service, (ASID Los Angeles) her team received the Governor’s Award for a renovation design for the Ronald McDonald House in Los Angeles.
