Describe your nominated work: “Vorizo” is the postal code for Hornby island where I am from. The tune tries to capture the vibe and different landscapes of Hornby

Why did you choose to submit this work to The 10th IMAs? It best represents our sound

Did you use any unusual effects or instruments in this recording? Live off the floor

Were there any happy accidents while in the studio, or did everything go as planned? We improvise in every tune so half of it is an accident

Did fans help you fund this project? We have sold a lot of CDs. This always helps fund the next one

Who’s sitting in your audience? Everyone who likes guitar melody and energy

What makes your fans unique? They can dig instrumental music

Are there any songs you wish you wrote? “Let is Be,” that way I could renovate my home!

What artists are you listening to that would surprise your fans? Radiohead, Beethoven

What is your dream show lineup? It varies too much to say

What is your guilty pleasure on the road? Watching movies

Any close calls or mishaps while on tour? everyday

Do you have any rituals before you go on stage? If I am feeling nervous I remind myself that music comes easier then anything else.

Should music be free? It can’t be unless everything else is free

How has digital affected your career? It’s not so much the money as that music is wall paper now for many people

Are digital singles vs. full albums the future of music? The album will always exist. An album is a novel and composers will always want the challenge of writing a ‘work’

Finish this sentence: The music industry is… forever changing.
