Vandana Vishwas Earns An IMA Nomination

Mississauga vocalist Vandana Vishwas has been nominated in the Word Traditional Song category at the 10th annual Independent Music Awards.

Vishwas received a nomination for Badara Re, from her debut album, Meera – The Lover. She’ll be going up against the Chookasian Armenian Concert Ensemble, Seven Winds and various artists who performed on compilations that were nominated.

Winners will be selected by a panel of 62 artists and industry experts including Tom Waits, Seal, Pete Wentz and Kevin Lyman.

The winners will be announced in March29, 2011.

Vishwas received a number of award nominations in 2010 for her debut album. Recently, she was nominated for the K.M. Hunter Award for music by the Ontario Arts Council.
