Annie Lawlor graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Music Business Management. Throughout her 4 years at Columbia College, Annie spent time working in event planning, television production, talent agency work, and club management, though she eventually found her niche in artist management. After graduating from Columbia College, Annie was hired as the Office Manager at the world famous blues club, Buddy Guy’s Legends, in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago. In less than a year, Annie worked her way up and on to Buddy Guy’s management team (GBG Artist Management) becoming the Personal Assistant and Publicist to the 6-time GRAMMY award winning Chicago blues legend.
Buddy Guy has been a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound, and a living link to that city’s halcyon days of electric blues. Buddy was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. He has received 6 Grammy Awards, 34 Blues Music Awards (the most any artist has received), a Kennedy Center Honor for a lifetime contribution to American culture, the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Rolling Stone ranked him in the top 25 of its “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.”
