Lydia Hutchinson


Lydia Hutchinson graduated from Louisiana State University in 1985 with a BA in Journalism & Advertising, and has lived in Nashville for 24 years. She founded Performing Songwriter magazine in 1993 out of her guest bedroom, and 16 years later it is still an independent publication without any outside funding. The offices are located in the Berry Hill area of Nashville.

Lydia was elected to The Recording Academy’s Board of Governors in 2008; is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Music; served as president of the Music Magazine Publisher’s Association from 2005-2008; is a member of NAMM; and is on the faculty of
