Did you use any unusual effects or instruments in this recording?: No
Were there any happy accidents while in the studio, or did everything go as planned?: Once Rob kicked over some bottles that were on the studio floor while the recording was still running, after listening to it we just kept it as the end of that song.
How did you raise the funds for this project? How long do you expect it will take to recoup your out-of-pocket recording expenses?: We are signed to Rhythm Bombs sub label Shack Rouser, they paid the recordings.
Why did you choose to submit this work to The 12th IMAs?: We heard about it through JD McPherson winning the Rock category last year and thought it would be a great chance to get some good promo though this. The song itself is not just Nashville style Country, its a good example to the Rob Ryan sound.
What’s your definition of success and how will you know when you’ve achieved it?: Well I think with music, you ll know it when it comes to the point where you start reaching more and more fans that are happy with what you do and they let you know.Touring around the country selling a lot of what you believe in and making a good living of it is definitely a present. That alone means success.
Who’s sitting in your audience and what makes your fans unique?: Everybody from die hard country fans to Rockabillies to Joe everybody. They come by, like the band and have great time
What is your guilty pleasure on the road? Any close calls or mishaps while on tour?: Fortunately nothing to bad happened in the past 5 years of the band existing.
Who are your musical heroes & influences?: Buck Owens,Ronnie Dawson. Basically anything from old School Country to Rockabilly
Are there any songs you wish you wrote and why?: Not really
What artists are you listening to that would surprise your fans?: Amy McDonald
How do you discover new music? Do you buy music or are you content with streaming?: Mostly Online Radio Stations or talking with others about music.
How will musicians make a living if fans continue to expect music to be free?: I think that can t be.It s like buying a car.If you wanna have one,you gotta pay for it.
What don’t fans/audiences understand about the music industry today?: I think most of them don t even think about that. They re just interested in the music itself
Are digital singles/EPs vs. full albums the future?: No I think that will go together. And vinyl is having a comeback anyways.
Finish this sentence: The music industry is…a big machinery that tries to conform bands in order to create a streamline product for the mass markets
What do you have in the works for the upcoming year?: There will be a new album. More touring. More collaborations with other art forms.
