Bettye LaVette Releases British Rock Songbook Covers Album

Bettye LaVette, R&B legend and IMA Judge, has just released her new album, Interpretations: The British Rock Songbook, on Anti- Records. Known recently for performing Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come” at President Barack Obama’s Inagural Celebration and for making Pete Townshend weep after her rendition of The Who’s “Love Reign O’er Me” at the Kennedy Center Honors, LaVette decided to take the British Invasion’s obsession with American Blues & R&B and make it her own with Interpretations.

Featuring her take on tracks by The Beatles (and its individual members), The Animals, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and The Rolling Stones, Interpretations is out now and available on iTunes.
