9th IMA Nominees: Ra Ra Riot Plan Extensive US Tour

9th IMA Pop/Rock nominees Ra Ra Riot are embarking on an impressive US Tour beginning in August.

Indie rock sextet Ra Ra Riot has announced an extensive North American tour in support of its upcoming full-length, The Orchard, which is set for release August 24 on Barsuk. The official tour kicks off with a four-night stand in the New York City area, beginning September 21, but the band will appear at a slew of festivals and benefits in the preceding months. The tour concludes in Winnipeg on November 20.

The Orchard will be the band’s sophomore effort, which follows its 2008 debut, The Rhumb Line. All of the songs on the new album were co-produced by the band and Andrew Maury and mixed by Death Cab For Cutie’s Chris Walla, except for “Do You Remember,” which was mixed by Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij. Batmanglij is also a member of electro-funk duo Discovery with Ra Ra Riot vocalist Wes Miles.The Orchard marks the first studio appearance of drummer Gabriel Duquette, who has toured with Ra Ra Riot since 2008.
