Great storytellers create vivid portraits that reflect the human experience and capture a moment in time; singer-songwriters shoulder the added burden of setting it all to music.

Part of a series of live performances showcasing past and present IMA artists, here, Richard Julian, Kristy Kruger and Amy Speace share their stories & songs on stage at Symphony Space – a New York arts institution and home of the popular NPR short story series Selected Shorts. Hosted by the uber music writer and Rolling Stone contributing editor Anthony DeCurtis this sold-out event was recorded on May 7, 2009.

Channel 5: Grooveable Feast: Where Musician’s Meet For Dinner And A Show

Have you ever been out to dinner and found yourself trying to discretely listen-in on the interesting conversation at the next table? Now imagine that sitting at the next table are incredible independent artists consuming copious amounts of food and drink while sharing tales about their lives and the music biz.
Juicy right?
We thought so, that’s why we created this original web series featuring an array of IMA artists and other incredible independent talent. Hosted by IMA Album winner Richard Julian, we kick the series off at Tom’s Diner in Brooklyn with perennial IMA judge Suzanne Vega.

Coming up are Josh Ritter, Jesse Harris, Dirtfoot, and Amy Correia chatting and performing at various Manhattan and Brooklyn hot spots. In addition to freewheeling conversation, each of the 8 half-hour episodes includes exclusive live performances by the featured artists. Incidental music spotlights other IMA talents including Duane Andrews, Mackrosoft, and Ranger & The Re-Arrangers.

We’ll be airing a new episode every 2 weeks, but you can move beyond the velvet rope and get VIP access to all things Grooveable Feast including advance viewings of each new episode, premium content, special opportunities and more.

Tune in & join the party.
